Kadence Starter Templates: Kadence AI adds personalized touches to Kadence’s starter templates by automatically generating content and adding royalty-free images into predesigned Kadence templates.

Key features of Kadence AI include:

AI-powered templates: Predesigned templates automatically populated with AI-generated content.
AI-powered Design Library: AI-curated images and text snippets inside the Design Library.
Inline AI block: Updated Text (Adv) block to access AI content generation from the WordPress editor.

At this time, the Kadence AI wizard doesn’t generate templates from scratch. It only populates existing ones with AI generated text and AI-curated images.

And that’s not a bad thing because most AI website builders that attempt to build templates from scratch tend to be more trouble than they’re worth. You often end up with awkward designs that need just as much work as starting from scratch.

Kadence AI takes a simpler approach. It uses existing templates to speed up your website design workflows. That way, anyone from a non-technical beginner to an expert can design a website without using code.

3 things I like about Kadence AI

Here are three things I liked about using Kadence AI.

1. Tailored content and design suggestions

Kadence AI takes the Design Library to a new level. It automatically adds content and images into the Design Library templates to help you visualize how the templates would look on your site, even before you add them.

And it works the same way with Starter Templates too!

If you’re importing a starter template onto your site, Kadence AI updates the content inside the templates to match your website content.

The best part? You can go in and edit everything to make sure it’s fully on-brand before hitting publish!

2. Integrates seamlessly into the WordPress editor

Another thing that I really like about Kadence AI is that it seamlessly integrates with the WordPress editor. You can access it with just a few clicks using the Kadence Text block.

Add the Text block to the WordPress editor, and you’ll see the Kadence AI icon in the block toolbar. No extra steps or workflow changes are needed.

You can also see the number of credits you have left in real time without leaving the editor. Just click the Kadence AI icon to see the number of credits remaining for your account.

Using Kadence AI feels natural within the WordPress editor.

3. Generous credits system

Kadence AI’s credit system is generous and well-implemented. Free users get 250 free credits, whereas paid users get anywhere from 4,000 to 16,000 credits, depending on their plans.

I found that tasks like generating headlines and short paragraphs needed around one credit each during my testing. In contrast, more complex tasks like generating content for the design library took between 45 and 100 credits.

What’s better is that you can buy more credits when you run out of the free credits. Kadence’s AI credits packages allow you to buy as many as you need, depending on your budget.

2 things Kadence AI can improve on

Kadence AI is an excellent tool for automating website design. But it has a few quirks. Here are two areas I think Kadence AI falls short.

1. Generic content generation

Kadence AI does a great job of incorporating your inputs to personalize the generated content. But the final output can be a hit or miss each time. That’s because AI content lacks the individuality and originality of human-written content.

It’s not bad. But it definitely needs some work.

To be fair, this isn’t something Kadence has much control over. The quality of content generated by the AI is influenced by factors beyond their control. That said, it’s worth mentioning for those who plan on signing up for Kadence just because of its AI content generation capabilities.

2. Doesn’t support third-party block and page builders

Another downside of Kadence AI is that it only works with Kadence Blocks. Even though Starter Templates has a few Elementor templates, you can’t use Kadence AI with those.

So, if you’re using Kadence Theme with any other block or page builder, you won’t be able to use most Kadence AI features on your site.

The good news is that this is a great reason to ditch your existing page builders and switch your website to the lightweight and user-friendly Kadence Blocks.

Final thoughts: Does Kadence AI live up to the hype in 2026?

After initially testing Kadence AI for a week and using it a few times over the past two years, I can confidently say that it is not a gimmick but a useful tool for speeding up website design.

While it can generate generic content, Kadence AI makes designing WordPress websites much easier by giving you a basic foundation to start from instead of a blank screen.
