What is Kadence Shop Kit?

Kadence Shop Kit review overview

Kadence Shop Kit is a premium WordPress plugin that extends the functionality of WooCommerce with 15 useful modules. It allows you to customize different parts of your WooCommerce store, like the product page, checkout, and shopping cart.

Put simply, Shop Kit is a collection of plugins that allow you to customize different parts of your store. Once you install Shop Kit, you can activate, deactivate, and configure all 15 Shop Kit modules from the WordPress admin panel.

While you can use Shop Kit with any WordPress or WooCommerce theme, it works best with block-based themes like Astra, GeneratePress, and Kadence.

Shop Kit is sold independently as a plugin and as part of the Kadence Full bundle. If you’re on a budget, you can buy Shop Kit alone. However, I recommend buying the Full bundle to get the best value for your money.

Now that you’re familiar with Shop Kit let’s dig into my Shop Kit review and test its features, ease of use, performance, and security.

What features does Kadence Shop Kit 2.0 offer?

Kadence Shop Kit adds important ecommerce features to WooCommerce, like checkout customization and variation swatches, without slowing down your store. It scores a solid 4.5 out of 5 for its features and is a valuable plugin for WooCommerce stores.

Shop Kit loses half a point because it needs brand filtering support and Woo blocks for custom templates like a size chart block. That said, it’s a solid plugin that can upgrade your WooCommerce store design and functionality without slowing it down.

Here’s a breakdown of everything Kadence Shop Kit offers in 2026.

Customizable product page layout templates

editing a custom product template with kadence shop kit

Shop Kit’s custom template builder is perhaps the most powerful feature of the plugin. It allows you to design custom product page templates using WooCommerce-specific blocks and assign them to all products or selectively to product categories or tags.

You can even create different templates and set them up to display for specific users and devices, and even for a limited time, using the Expires setting option.

Setting it up is super easy. Just activate the Product Templates feature from the Shop Kit dashboard, create your custom template page, and assign it to your products. Using custom product page layouts with WooCommerce doesn’t get any easier than that.

What I like about Shop Kit is that it also gives you three pre-designed product page templates to get you started. You can import them into the WordPress editor with a single click or build your own from scratch exactly how you want it.

Advanced product gallery styles

different gallery styles in kadence shop kit

Kadence Shop Kit’s Advanced Gallery Styles feature simplifies how your products are shown. With seven layout options, you can choose how your product images appear on mobile, tablet, and desktop.

The seven gallery styles give you choices. Pick the one that suits your products and fits your brand. From a simple grid to a dynamic masonry layout, you can make your online store look just how you want it.

More importantly, you can set the gallery layout style for each device. That helps you offer your customers the best shopping experience no matter which device they use to visit your online store.

You can even go a step further and customize the image slider settings, modify the thumbnail hover behavior, and enable and configure the lightbox for product images.

Product variation swatches

The Variations Swatches feature in Kadence Shop Kit allows you to replace the default WooCommerce product variation selection dropdown with user-friendly swatches.

And that matters because WooCommerce doesn’t support product variation swatches for variable products. You can only get variation swatches on your store through third-party plugins, which add unnecessary features and page bloat to slow your store.

Thanks to Kadence Shop Kit, you can upgrade the default WooCommerce product variation selection dropdown in a few clicks. No worrying about bloated plugins or theme conflicts.

Kadence Shop Kit supports three main types of product variation swatches:

  1. Color Swatches: Great for clothes and accessories sold in different colors. Customers can see the colors and pick what they like quickly.
  2. Image Swatches: Perfect for products where pictures show the differences, like furniture or electronics. Customers can see the options and choose what looks best.
  3. Radio Buttons: A classic and simple way for products with few choices, like sizes or styles. Customers can click through the options and pick what they need.

Using swatches doesn’t just make your store look better — it makes it easier to use for your customers. They can see everything clearly, pick what they want, and enjoy a smoother shopping experience.

Product variation gallery settings

Shop Kit’s Product Variation Gallery feature allows you to create dynamic product galleries for your WooCommerce store. You can use a customizable slider that displays all the images for each product variation. It offers a simple way to make your products look more appealing.

how shop kit's product variation gallery works

Here’s how it works:

  1. You set up the variation gallery in the WordPress admin.
  2. The customer lands on the product page and selects a variation.
  3. Kadence updates the product image gallery to show images of the chosen variation.

Shop Kit’s product variation gallery is a simple feature that makes a massive difference to the overall shopping experience.

It ensures your customers don’t need to dig through thousands of images to find the few they want. All they need to do is select their preferred variation, and Kadence will dynamically update the images so they only see the images relevant to their selection.

Advanced product reviews

Kadence Shop Kit’s Advanced Reviews feature transforms WooCommerce’s basic review capabilities into an engaging space that builds trust and influences buying decisions. Here’s how.

Shop Kit’s Advanced Reviews adds a voting system to reviews, so when customers upvote helpful reviews, Kadence prioritizes those reviews on the product page. And that’s not all. It also adds a review overview section that provides a bird’s eye view of all reviews.

That means your store can offer a reviews section that’s looks and behaves just like billion-dollar brands like Amazon.

Unlimited custom global tabs

Shop Kit’s Custom Global Tabs feature is a simple yet powerful way to make your products stand out. Whether highlighting unique features or providing care instructions, Global Tabs allows you to tweak your product pages to maximize conversions.

custom returns policy tab kadence shop kit 2.0

Here’s how it works:

  1. Create custom global tabs with WordPress blocks like text, images, and videos.
  2. Configure where your custom global tabs appear.
  3. Custom global tabs seamlessly blend into the product page layout, providing customers easy access to extra product information without a cluttered look.

Shop Kit’s Custom Global Tabs allow you to create dynamic and useful tabs that go beyond the standard product details, giving your customers more information in a clean and organized way.

Product sizing charts

Did you know that according to Coveo’s 2022 Holiday Shopper Report, incorrect sizing is the top reason for online returns? Their survey found that 55% of customers in the U.S. and U.K. returned online purchases because the products didn’t fit as expected.

Kadence gives you an easy way to overcome that problem with its size charts feature. It allows you to tweak what’s in your size chart and where and how it shows up.

Kadence gives you eight locations to choose from, like before or after the “Add to Cart” button, in the attribute selection area, or even as a dedicated tab. You’re in control of the entire purchase experience from start to finish.

You can assign size charts individually to products and categories if you like.

The one thing I didn’t like about Kadence Shop Kit’s Size Charts feature is that it doesn’t work perfectly with custom product page layouts. The only way to display the size chart on a custom product page template is to set the display location as a tab.

That said, it’s a minor trade-off that doesn’t affect the overall value Kadence Shop Kit provides.

Product brands

You’ll love Shop Kit’s Product Brands feature if you sell multiple brands on your WooCommerce store. It makes it easier for your customers to find products and helps you use brand awareness to increase sales.

Shop Kit allows you to show brands as logos or brand names on the product and category pages.

The best part? Setting it up is super easy.

Go to Shop Kit > Product Brands, toggle the Enable Product Brands switch, and you’re in business. You can configure basic settings like brand terms and the URL slug for the brand archive page from the same place.

Once you hit Save, Shop Kit adds a new section under the Products menu to manage brands for your site.

Brands are basically a new type of taxonomy on your site. So you can add new brands and manage them using the same workflows as product categories and tags. Nice and easy.

While setting up and managing brands is easy, I did find that Shop Kit doesn’t support filtering products by brands on archive pages. That’s something I would expect with such a feature.

However, if you don’t need brand filtering support, you’ll find the Brands feature in Kadence Shop Kit super helpful.

Affiliate product options

WooCommerce doesn’t support affiliate or external product links, but Kadence Shop Kit allows you to add and promote products from other brands without code.

Setting up is super easy too. Just enable the Affiliate/External Product Options toggle from the Shop Kit dashboard and click Save. Then, create your affiliate products just like any other product, including adding product descriptions, images, pricing, and affiliate links. That’s it!

Kadence will automatically update the Add to Cart button to point to the affiliate product page and open in a new tab. You won’t have to worry about messing with code and breaking your site.

Want to point to the affiliate product page from your catalog pages? Shop Kit has your back. You can set everything up with a few clicks from the Shop Kit dashboard.

Variation price control options

Shop Kit’s Variation Options feature allows you to choose how you want your product variation pricing to display to your customers.

You have three options: to show a price range, the lowest price, or the highest price. You can select one of those and add additional text before or after the variation price on the archive page.

Here’s an example of how that would work.

Let’s say you set the price to display as a price range. You can add custom text like “From:” or “Starts from:” to the variation price on the catalog and product page.

Shop Kit’s Variation Options feature is a simple yet effective way to control pricing display for variable products.

Without it, your only options would be to find a third-party plugin that may add unnecessary bloat to your store or use some custom code that could break with a future update.

Custom add-to-cart text

Shop Kit’s Custom Add to Cart Text feature lets you change the words on your call-to-action (CTA) buttons, adding a personal touch to your online store.

By default, WooCommerce uses Add to Cart as the call to action for most product types and “Select options” for variable products.

Shop Kit lets you upgrade those boring CTAs to something more descriptive and compelling.

For example, if you’re selling shoes, you can change the default “Add to Cart” to “Buy Shoes”. Or, if you’re selling variable products like tshirts, you can change the default “Select Options” to something like “Pick a size” or “Choose a color”.

Shop Kit also lets you set custom text for out-of-stock items. That way, you can compel customers to click through to a product page where you either show them other similar products or inform them about the restock date to avoid losing customers and sales.

Custom checkout fields

The default WooCommerce checkout page is functional, but you can only customize it with code or a third-party plugin. While using plugins is easy, they’re often packed with unnecessary features.

Shop Kit gives you an easier way to add custom fields to your checkout page with its Checkout Editor. It allows you to add new fields, remove existing ones, and rearrange different fields for a better checkout experience.

The best part is that you can do it all without touching a single line of code.

Custom checkout field example

You can use Shop Kit’s Checkout Manager to add a “Special Instructions” field or a “Tax ID” field to the checkout. You can even use it to collect customer feedback during the checkout or add opt-ins to your newsletter. The possibilities are endless.

What I like about Shop Kit’s Checkout Manager is that it lets you add the information to order confirmation emails and display them on the order details page.

That way, if you’re using it for special instructions or delivery information, both you and your customers are on the same page.

Conditional cart banners

Shop Kit’s Conditional Cart Banners feature lets you strategically place banners in your customers’ carts based on specific conditions. It’s the perfect way to personalize your customer’s shopping experience while increasing sales.

For instance, you can discount a complementary product if a customer has a specific product in their cart or encourage them to upgrade to a higher-priced option with added features.

And because you give them these recommendations on the cart page just before they checkout, they’re more likely to add the additional items to their cart before placing their order.

Shop Kit lets you trigger cart banners based on conditions, such as product categories, total cart value, or specific product IDs.

The banners also dynamically update in real-time as customers add or remove items from their carts. That way, any upsells or cross-sells are fully relevant to your customers’ cart items.

The best part? You can customize banner styles and designs to match your brand. You can personalize everything from the banner color, background, and border and even add a hover effect to the CTA button inside the banner.

Extra category descriptions

Kadence Shop Kit’s Extra Category Description feature is a practical addition for WooCommerce store owners who understand the importance of SEO. It helps you transform your category pages into informative and engaging spaces for search engines and customers.

Once you enable the feature in the Shop Kit dashboard, it adds an extra description area to the product category edit pages. You can find it by going to Products > Categories, editing a category, and scrolling to the bottom of the page.

The extra description supports standard HTML markup for text. So you can tag headings as <h3> or <h4> and even add links to products and pages on your store.

Search engines can often view category pages as pages with thin content. But with Shop Kit’s Extra Category Description feature, you can easily add more content to your page and make it more informative and descriptive.

You can make it helpful for your customers by pointing them to different pages or sections of your store that might help them make informed purchases.

User-friendly snackbar notices

Shop Kit transforms the boring notice banners into small, dismissible popups at the bottom of the screen that lets you convey messages without interrupting the shopping flow.

Kadence Shop Kit’s Snackbar Notices feature offers a modern twist to the standard banner-style WooCommerce notices.

Enabling Snackbar-style notices changes the default add-to-cart confirmation notice into a dismissable slide-up notice. It also gives you access to two additional toggles to enable snackbar notices for the cart and checkout pages.

The snackbar notice is one of my favorite features of Kadence Shop Kit. Despite its simplicity, it makes the overall add-to-cart experience much smoother.

Checkout coupon modal

The Checkout Coupon Modal feature is another Shop Kit feature that makes the checkout experience feel more modern. The way it works is simple. It replaces the standard WooCommerce coupon input field with a modal button.

So, instead of searching for a small text field, your customers can click the modal button to open a larger window designed to add their coupons. This little upgrade makes the process of applying coupons more intuitive and user-friendly.

Shop Kit also lets you configure the modal link location on the checkout page and customize the modal link text and Apply Code button text.

Is Kadence Shop Kit easy to use?

Kadence maintains its thoughtful and beginner-friendly design approach in Shop Kit as well. Its modules are organized neatly inside the dashboard and can be activated and deactivated with a few simple clicks.

While the simplicity comes with a few trade-offs, Shop Kit is intuitive and user-friendly. For that reason, I rate Shop Kit 4.5 on 5 for ease of use.

Here’s a quick overview of how easy it is to use Kadence Shop Kit.

Installing Kadence Shop Kit

Follow these steps to install Kadence Shop Kit:

  1. Head to Kadence’s website and purchase Kadence Shop Kit. If you already have a Kadence premium subscription, log in to your account.
  2. In your Kadence account dashboard, look for the Download Files section. Depending on your plan, you’ll find a list of premium products. Locate Kadence Shop Kit, hit Download, and save the file to your computer.
  3. Log in to your WordPress admin panel and go to Plugins > Add New. Choose Upload Plugin, click Choose File, upload the Kadence Shop Kit file, and click Install Now. Once installed, select Activate Plugin to finish.
  4. After activation, you’ll get a notification prompting you to activate Kadence Shop Kit. Click Click here to activate.
  5. On the Kadence Plugin Activation page, enter your API License Key and API License Email. Click Activate to complete the Kadence Shop Kit plugin activation.

That’s it. Kadence Shop Kit is set up and ready to use. You can access the Shop Kit dashboard by clicking on Shop Kit in the WordPress admin panel and activating its modules one at a time.

If you want to learn more about using Shop Kit, consider reading my detailed Kadence Shop Kit tutorial, where I explain how to set up Shop Kit and use its features.

Managing Kadence Shop Kit modules

Shop Kit places all its modules inside a dedicated dashboard in the WordPress admin. That makes it easy to access and manage the different Shop Kit functions from one single place.

You can access the dashboard by selecting Shop Kit from the WordPress admin panel menu. Once on the dashboard page, you can switch between different tabs and enable features individually by activating the provided toggle and clicking Save.

While Shop Kit is reasonably easy to use, I have a few critiques about the overall user experience.

The first thing I didn’t like about Shop Kit’s user experience is that you need to refresh the page after clicking Save for settings that add new items to the WooCommerce or Products menus.

A Save and Refresh button on those settings pages could make the overall user experience a little smoother.

The other thing I didn’t like about Shop Kit’s user experience is that its modules only work effectively with the default WordPress and WooCommerce blocks and templates.

If you’re using a custom product page template or checkout template, things like the checkout coupon modal and snackbar notices won’t work by default.

That said, you can manually recreate some of those, like the snackbar notices.

More importantly, these trade-offs most likely won’t matter for many Kadence users. However, I wanted to mention them for those of you with very specific needs and expectations of Shop Kit.

Does Kadence Shop Kit affect store performance?

Kadence has a near-perfect reputation for developing some of the highest-quality themes and plugins. Each time I’ve performance-tested Kadence products, they’ve aced virtually all my tests.

Resources loaded for post without Kadence Blocks

For example, my Kadence Blocks review proved that Kadence Blocks uses intelligent script loading to ensure top-notch performance.

Similarly, my Kadence Theme review showed that anyone can use the Kadence Theme to achieve 95+ PageSpeed scores without any advanced optimizations.

So, does Kadence Shop Kit offer the same level of performance? Let’s find out!

For this Kadence Shop Kit performance review, I set up a Cloudways WooCommerce server on a 1GB DigitalOcean VPS and installed the following extensions:

  1. Kadence Theme.
  2. Kadence Theme Pro.
  3. Kadence Starter templates.
  4. Kadence Blocks.
  5. WooCommerce.
  6. Rank Math.

I also imported the Print Shop starter template to add media and content to the site and uploaded some test products. I only used basic optimizations to ensure the results would be consistent with what a beginner could recreate.

To understand the impact of Kadence Shop Kit on a WooCommerce store I tested the homepage, shop page, and a product page before installing Shop Kit.

Then, I installed Shop Kit, enabled all 15 Shop Kit modules, set up a custom product page template, and retested all three pages.

Here are the before and after test results:

Comparing the before and after results proves that Kadence Shop Kit has no impact on page performance, even with a custom product page template.

For those reasons, I rate Kadence Shop Kit’s performance a solid 5 out of 5. You can install it on your WooCommerce store without worrying about performance issues or page bloat.

Is Kadence Shop Kit safe to use?

Kadence Shop Kit is secure and safe to use. I dug through online vulnerability reports from Patchstack, Wordfence, and VulDB and found no vulnerability reports for Shop Kit.

I even went a step further and combed through the entire Shop Kit changelog to see if the databases missed any vulnerabilities. And I’m happy to report that I couldn’t find any!

Now, does that mean Shop Kit won’t have any vulnerabilities in the future?

No! But based on KadenceWP’s track record, you can count on them to roll out a fix as soon as any security issues are found.

For those reasons, I rate Kadence Shop Kit’s security a solid 5 out of 5.

Does Kadence Shop Kit offer documentation and support?

As a paid plugin, I expect Shop Kit to provide detailed documentation and priority support. And it delivers on that expectation flawlessly.

Kadence provides detailed documentation for Shop Kit on their website that describes how to use the different Shop Kit modules with images and gifs that make using the plugin a lot easier.

As for support, Kadence has one of the best support teams in the WordPress community.

Their premium support option gives you priority access to their support team. If that’s not enough, you also have other places like the Kadence Blocks community forum and private Facebook group to ask questions and connect with Kadence users.

I’ve contacted Kadence support a few times and only have good things to say about them. They’re polite and knowledgeable and always go above and beyond to resolve your queries.

For those reasons, I rate Kadence Shop Kit support and documentation a reliable 5 out of 5.

How much does Kadence Shop Kit cost?

Kadence Shop Kit is a premium WooCommerce plugin that costs $119 for the first year and $119 per year after that. You can also buy it as part of the Kadence Ultimate for $299 per year or purchase the Kadence Ultimate Lifetime plan for a one-time payment of $899.

If you’re starting with your WooCommerce store, I recommend choosing the $119 plan. It’s the cheapest option that gives you Shop Kit modules with premium support and one year of updates.

If you’re serious about building an online store, the Kadence Full Bundle is worth every penny. It gives you access to all current and future Kadence products, including Kadence Theme Pro, Kadence Blocks Pro, and Kadence Conversions.

And if you have any existing store or online business and are in it for the long haul, I’d recommend buying the Lifetime Full Bundle. It’s the best value if you plan on using Kadence products for more than four years.

Don’t want to commit to a plan without knowing if Shop Kit is right for you? Don’t worry!

Kadence offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on all plans except the Lifetime bundle. So feel free to sign up for either the $119 or $299 plan and give Kadence products a go.

If you’re not fully satisfied with your purchase, just reach out to the Kadence team within the money-back guarantee period and get a full refund.

Kadence Shop Kit review summary: Is it still worth using in 2026?

Kadence Shop Kit is a must-have plugin for WooCommerce store owners in 2026. It offers useful modules that help you customize your WooCommerce store without code. More importantly, it’s secure and uses clean code that doesn’t impact your website performance.
